Music Journal: Feb 2025

I didn't listen to much new music I got supper stressed. But I did buy myself a new pair of IEMs as a reward for getting through the month. I haven't upgraded my audio equipment since like 2017, it's crazy how advanced the audiophile community has come in 8 years. There was a bunch of $20 options I wanted to try but I ended up spending a lil more and getting the Truthear Hexa. It's so high resolution you can hear the actual string of the guitar being plucked. Like not the sound the string makes but the finger or the pick on the string. insanity. Now that the stress is behind me I hope to listen to a lot more new things in April!!

this list is in chronological order! Favorites for this month are marked with a "✰"

Velvet Eden - Street of ALICE

    2000 / Darkwave

I love the aesthetics and the vibe, the vocalist has a good voice. It didn't hit me particularly hard though. It's missing a little bit of excitement, the progression feels sorta flat.

Top Tracks: Street of Alice, La Fin

    MUCC - 朽木の灯

    2004 / Alternative Metal

The vocalist is fucking SINGING. He's got a heart-wrenching emotional voice that will pull you out of whatever you're doing and fight back tears.

    Top Tracks: 遺書, 朽木の塔

    ✰ Def.Master - Destroyer Has Godmind

    1995 / Industrial Metal

This is this band's first and last release, which is such a shame because it fuuuccckss. It's peak 90's underground garbage industrial edm AND heavy metal. ITS PERFECT TO MEE
